This category encompasses shops that specialise in local produce - farm shops, delicatessens, greengrocers, bakers or fishmongers. Look out for value for money, friendliness of staff and how knowledgeable they are. Does the food look fresh and appetising, is it seasonal, well labelled and is there a good range?
Taste of the West
Taste of the West works for the economic development of the food and drink industry throughout the South West. In Cornwall we have been running a dedicated Marketing and Trade Development programme since 2001 under the Objective One programme.
We are working with food and drink producers, caterers and retailers to improve competitiveness and profitability, helping businesses access and penetrate new markets and providing sound practical advice and support.
Taste of the West enjoys strong links with local, regional and national media, resulting in greater awareness of the dynamic and expanding food and drink sector, enhancing and creating interest with the consumer.
Taste of the West organises and supports a number of events, food festivals and food celebrations, creating opportunities to bring the customers, the food, and the producers together.
